Second World War

When the war broke out, Frank enlisted in the Australian Military Forces, even though he was 45 years old. He was assigned to the 16th Garrison Battalion and quickly rose to the rank of Warrant Officer Class I. He spent much of the war at the prisoner of war and internment camp at Hay, New South Wales.
