Postcard from the Newbridge Camp, 1907

A postcard sent from the North of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry camp at Newbridge in July 1907. The identity of the writer, 'Tom', is not known, but it is probable that he is writing to either Marsella, Marion or Laura Rutherford, of Main Street, Ballybay, County Monaghan, daughters of merchant Matthew Rutherford and his wife Elizabeth.

The postcard reads:

N of I. I. Y.
Newbridge Camp.
Thursday.

We are camped about a mile from Newbridge station, saw the Irish Derby run yesterday & are taking part in the Kings birthday celebrations on the Curragh tomorrow. Weather wretched.
