Private Thomas Robinson

 

The only reference to this man's military service discovered to date is in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland's Roll of Honour: 1914-1919, which lists him as a North Irish Horseman, living at Kinneygallough, and belonging to the Glenwherry Congregation, Ballymena Presbytery. The Roll lists North Irish Horseman James Robinson, from Kinneygallough, who was probably his brother.

Thomas Robinson was born on 24 March 1895 at Jockeysquarter, Glenwherry, County Antrim, the seventh of twelve children of farm labourer Thomas Robinson and his wife Jane (née Gardiner). At the time of the 1901 Census he was living at Glenwherry with his parents, six siblings, a grandmother and a niece. Ten years later he was living at nearby Kinneygallagh, where he worked as a labourer for farmer James McCullough.

To date nothing further has been discovered about his military service.
