Private John Shaw

 

The only reference to this man's service in the North Irish Horse is in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland's Roll of Honour: 1914-1919, which listed him as a Trooper, from Ballymena, belonging to the Ballymena Wellington Street Congregation.

Nothing more has been discovered about his military service or his family background. One possibility is the John Shaw recorded in the 1911 Census, living at 43 Moat Road, Ballymena, aged 24, son of agricultural labourer Robert Shaw and his wife Margaret.
