Lance Corporal Thomas Thompson
The only evidence of this man's military service discovered to date is contained in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland's Roll of Honour: 1914-1919, which states that he served as a Lance Corporal in the North Irish Horse, lived at Aughnish, County Donegal, and was a member of the Ramelton First Congregation, Letterkenny Presbytery.
He may have been the William Thomas Thompson born at Augnish on 19 January 1891, one of at least four children of blacksmith William Thomas Thompson and his wife Rebecca (née Noble). At the time of the 1911 Census he was living at Aughnish with his parents, three siblings, two half-brothers, an aunt and an uncle, and was working as a blacksmith.
No record of him serving overseas with the North Irish Horse has been located, although according to the PCI Roll of Honour, he was wounded.
