Cause: Killed in action

Buried/ commemorated: The casualties of the fighting at Kooikopjes on 24 August were buried in Griquatown and later re-interred in the West End Cemetery, Kimberley. Jeffares may be one of the 131 unknown British soldiers who lie in that cemetery. His name is recorded on the 74th Company Memorial in Dublin.
