The Irish Imperial Yeomanry

During the Anglo-Boer War, thirteen squadrons of Imperial Yeomanry were raised in Ireland between 1900 and 1902. six of these proceeded to South Africa as part of the first yeomanry contingent in 1900. One was later formed in South Africa from reinforcements and men disbanded from first contingent units. The remaining six companies sailed for South Africa in 1902, arriving within days of the end of hostilities.

If you would like more information on a family member who served in these companies, please contact me, Phillip Tardif, at: phillipjtardif@gmail.com.
